Direct2Drive announced that they won't carry Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, because of the competition coming from Steam. The same thing goes for competing digital distributor Impulse, which also won't be handling Infinity Wards' shooter. Gamasutra has a statement from D2D:

"We believe strongly that when you buy a game from us, you shouldn't be forced to install and run a 3rd party software client to be able to play the game you purchased," D2D says. Another company rep said: "We don't believe games should force the user to install a Trojan Horse."

With all the pre-launch madness surrounding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, this game will probably go down in gaming history as one of the most controversial releases of all time.

Hm, they all smell the money. And now everyone wants their own slice... This would be sad if it wasn't so pathetic.

Canadian video game journalist Geoff Keighley tweets: "Blizzard is targeting 'first half of 2010' for Starcraft II according to Activision earnings call."

Okay, I guess this does confirm Blizzard's release date announced a few months back (they officially delayed the game to 2010).

Man, I've said it before and I'll say it again; 2010 is looking seriously overcrowded. But hey, that's what us geeks are here for, isn't it?

Right now there's so much rain outside it could easily be the end of the world. No matter. There's plenty to enjoy in the comfort of one's warm and cozy home. This Fall gaming season should have a lot for you to play regardless if you're a PC or console gamer. In my opinion, it's best to be a little of both these days. Because if you're not, you're just missing out on so much.
