Resistance 2
When the PS3 launched, it had a but a handful of games to offer, not the least of which was Resistance: Fall of Man. While it didn't exactly offer anything groundbreaking to the world of next-gen gaming, it was still regarded as an excellent shooter - certainly one that's worthy of a sequel.

Resistance 2 Shots, Concept Art
Sony's answer to Gears of War 2? Whatever. I never even played the first one. People are already getting hyped over Resistance 2. Judging from the screenshots the game looks good, though still not good enough to make me want to purchase a PS3 console.
