Combat comes in a new shape as well, since the Prince now wields the aforementioned glove and a long, slim sword in his right hand. Combos are in the picture once again, with Ubisoft claiming that players will be able to execute 15-hit combos.

![]() Nyah, you can't have this sword! |
Obviously, the good old PoP series is going in a different direction visually. Gameplay wise, we are concerned whether Ubisoft made the right decision and we hope they do not make the same mistake as in Assassin's Creed, which was overburdened with repetitive missions and random tasks. The open-world approach sounds good, but as Assassin's Creed showed, this could easily ruin the experience. Additionally, the game doesn't appear to have any co-op available, even with the inclusion of a friendly female character.
All the same, Ubisoft has fair chance of revamping one of its most popular franchises. If nothing else, we are certain that the project has first-class artists behind it, as well as an adept design team. There should be enough combat, acrobatics and puzzle-solving to make for some traditional PoP fun. Besides, if the past PoP games have showed us anything, it would definitely have to be that Ubisoft Montreal is more than able to deliver a satisfying action-adventure. We'd really like to see this happen with the next-gen. edition of Prince of Persia.
The new Prince of Persia is scheduled to arrive during Holiday 2008, for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

| As long as there is quick save, I can't complain. At least that will make me forgive them for the awful camera this game is going to have. Take my word for it. | ||

| Screw innovative gameplay. As long as I can drive a chariot/carry a whip/ walk on walls and kill things I'm going to love this game. 10 to 1 it'll be released around the time the movie releases. | ||
